NEWS /One Month Until Forest Week
Today is March 6 – exactly one month remains until Forest Week, which this year begins on April 6. This is a time dedicated to Bulgaria’s forests, to the people who care for them, and to all of us who seek peace and inspiration in nature.
The forests of Nature Park “Rila Monastery” are part of some of the best-preserved mountain ecosystems in Bulgaria. Centuries-old spruce and beech forests protect the rich biodiversity of the Rila Mountains, provide habitat for wild animals, safeguard the pure mountain waters, and create that special feeling of silence and vastness that every visitor experiences along the forest trails.
Forests:
• preserve biodiversity
• regulate climate and water resources
• protect soils from erosion
• provide space for recreation, inspiration, and connection with wild nature
During the coming month, we will share more about the forests of the park, their importance, and how each of us can help protect them.
