December 11 - International Mountain Day

Today we celebrate International Mountain Day. The main idea of this day is to draw attention to the problems related to mountains.
Each year the focus is on a specific theme and for 2023 it is under the heading "Restoration of mountain ecosystems". The purpose of this day is to raise awareness of the importance of mountain ecosystems and call for nature-based solutions, best practices and investments that build resilience, reduce vulnerability and increase the ability of mountains to adapt to everyday threats and extreme climate events.
