NEWS / When knowledge meets nature, partnerships for the future take shape!
Today, Rila Monastery Nature Park and the University of Forestry took an important step towards closer cooperation by signing a partnership agreement.
The partnership was also brought to life in the field through a meeting with fourth- and fifth-year students majoring in Ecology and Environmental Protection, who took part in their practical training for the course “Protected Natural Areas”.
The programme began at the Nature Park’s Visitor and Information Centre and continued in the beautiful surroundings of Kirilova Polyana. Under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hristina Bancheva-Preslavska and Chief Assistant Professor Dr. Georgi Kadinov, the future ecologists learned about the principles of protected area management and the activities carried out to conserve and promote the park’s rich biodiversity.
Nature conservation requires not only knowledge, but also cooperation, shared experience and well-prepared professionals. We believe that the partnership between field practice and the academic community will create new opportunities for learning, sharing expertise and protecting the natural heritage of the Rila Mountains.
We would like to thank the University of Forestry and the students for their interest and commitment! Together, let us turn knowledge into action for the benefit of nature.
