NEWS /World Water Day
Each year, World Water Day highlights a specific aspect of water issues. In 2019, the theme of the campaign was "Water for all! Everyone is important!"
This year, the focus of this day is on "Water and Climate Change". Over 2 billion people worldwide live without access to drinking water. It is therefore of the utmost importance that each of us contributes daily to the prudent use of water and its conservation.
World Water Day is celebrated annually on March 22, to draw attention to the importance of water and the need to conserve it. The initiative was proposed in 1992 by the Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) held in Rio de Janeiro. The day has been officially celebrated since 1993, with water events taking place around the world every year.
