NEWS /Midsummer's Day with Rila Monastery Nature Park
With a series of events, the Directorate of the Rila Monastery Nature Park celebrates this year the day of medicinal plants, better known as Midsummer's Day. Experts from the park directorate visited Alen Mak kindergarten in the town of Kocherinovo and Radost kindergarten in the village of Barakovo, where they showed the children the most common herbs in the park. The children learned how to pick them and why it is important to protect them, especially the rare and protected plants. They also learned that some herbs are poisonous and must be used with great care. In order to strengthen their knowledge about medicinal plants, the children also received drawings with herbs that will color and show us at our next meetings. Finally, to observe the ritual of health on this day, all the children went through the wreath of herbs.
