NEWS / Educational Walk Introduces Children from the “Summer in the Library” Initiative to the Diversity of Tree Species
Today, Rila Monastery Nature Park held an educational event with the participants in the “Summer in the Library” initiative, organized by Hristo Botev Community Centre (Chitalishte) – Rila.
During the guided walk, the Park Director, Eng. Dimitar Grigorov, introduced the children to the tree species growing in the area surrounding the community centre. They learned about the differences between native, ornamental and invasive tree species, their countries of origin, and their various uses and importance.
The event concluded with a discussion on forest fire prevention. The children were reminded of the importance of responsible behaviour in nature and of following fire safety rules, especially during the summer season.
Such initiatives help foster environmental awareness among young people and encourage a lasting interest in the conservation of Bulgaria's natural heritage.
