The forest inspectors of the park directorate placed new specimens of the characteristic tree species found along this specialized route. Due to the frequent inquiries about camping on the territory of the "Rila Monastery" Nature Park, we inform you that according to the Park Management Plan, the area designated for camping is located in the Dolen govedarnik area (you can see it on the map) and is marked with information signs boards that are visible on the pictures.

Today, the experts from the Rila Monastery Nature Park at the Executive Forest Agency visited the kindergartens in the town of Rila, the town of Kocherinovo and the village of Barakovo, where they told and showed the children the most common medicinal plants in the park. Rila Monastery Nature Park celebrated its 22nd anniversary

On June 21, 2022, the Rila Monastery Nature Park celebrated its 22nd anniversary. The second most protected area in Bulgaria was established on June 21, 2000 on an area of 25,253.5 ha in order to protect and maintain the diversity of ecosystems and species of flora and fauna, creating conditions for tourism development and environmentally friendly livelihood of the local population, as well as for scientific, educational and recreational activities.
