Rila Monastery Nature Park celebrated its 22nd anniversary

On June 21, 2022, the Rila Monastery Nature Park celebrated its 22nd anniversary. The second most protected area in Bulgaria was established on June 21, 2000 on an area of 25,253.5 ha in order to protect and maintain the diversity of ecosystems and species of flora and fauna, creating conditions for tourism development and environmentally friendly livelihood of the local population, as well as for scientific, educational and recreational activities.

Directorate of Rila Monastery Nature Park is pleased to invite you to a celebration on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the announcement of Rila Monastery Nature Park on 21.06.2022 (Tuesday) from 17.00 in the Hall of Community centre Hristo Botev in the town of Rila. We are expecting you!

Maintaining the cleanliness of the park

Forest inspectors take care of the cleanliness of the park on a daily basis. They clean the most visited areas in the park, namely the areas of the Cold Fountain and Obedishte. All visitors to the Rila Monastery Nature Park are welcome, but we remind them not to leave behind waste and not to light a fire. Caring for the forest is a concern for all of us!

Prohibition of lighting fires on the territory of Rila Monastery Nature Park

In connection with the announced fire season,  it is forbidden to light fires on the territory of the Rila Monastery Nature Park for the period from 06.06.2022 to 30.11.2022.   Forest inspectors installed prohibitory information signs on the most visited areas - "Iliyna River", "Obedishte", "Studenata cheshma" and "Kirilova Polyana".           We urge all visitors to comply with the banning regimes in the Nature Park.
